Leverick Bay Resort and Marina
Virgin Gorda has it going on! This full service marina and resort is pretty much a compulsory stop for all bareboat charter guests visiting the British Virgin Islands.
Whether on your way to
Anegada or just enjoying a day or two in the
North Sound, you'll have a great time here. Your hosts are the very charming, long time BVI residents, Nick and Monica Willis, who manage the resort.
Nick, Monica and their attentive staff work very hard to ensure you'll enjoy your stay. Leverick Bay Resort hosts an annual poker run for
powerboats as well as a dinghy poker run for sailors. They are almost always busy hosting one sort of special event or another in addition to the usual entertainment offered at the beach bar and restaurant in season.
The marina offers three dining options. The Cove Grill and Jumbies Beach Bar (photo below) are open daily from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
You'll enjoy a leisurely poolside dining experience with a great view of their little beach, the marina and Sir Richard Branson's
Moskito Island as your backdrop.

The upstairs "Restaurant at Leverick Bay" is open in season from 6:30 p.m. (mid November to late June). They are closed on Friday and Sunday nights.

The Restaurant at Leverick Bay
As small as it may be, this is one of the best equipped marinas in the BVI and it is hands down, the most attractive and the best maintained! If they had a restaurant or coffee shop open for breakfast, it would be a 4¾ star facility in my book. For now, I give it 4 stars.
There are 15 slips with both 110 and 220 volt service, fuel, water, ice, landside shower and bathroom facilities as well as a Laundromat which is open 24/7. Get tokens for the Laundromat at the office. There are also 30 mooring balls maintained by Moor-Seacure available here. In addition, if you are staying overnight, they offer a bag of ice and up to 100 gallons of fresh water, free of charge.

If you need anything else, just ask Nick or Monica and they will do whatever they can to help. The office is open from 8:00 to 5:00, 7 days a week. As Billy Mays would say, "But wait, there's more!" Leverick Bay Resort & Marina is truly a full service facility. Read on ...

The resort not only offers all that has been mentioned previously, but there's also a small, yet well stocked market. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get photos of the market as the owner wasn't on site, but it's a good place to top up your provisions. The store is located about 50 yards from the marina office.
The full service
spa offers all sorts of goodies such as massage therapies, hand and foot treatments, full body treatment, facials, hair braiding, waxing and more. They will come to your yacht for a small up charge, if you prefer.
Dive BVI has a shop here offering air refills, sports clothing and beach wear, state of the art dive and snorkel gear as well as some pretty cool underwater photography equipment.

Pusser's Store at Leverick Bay
Pusser's has a nice shop here as well. I love the Victorian decor in their stores and they carry some very nice men's and ladies cotton apparel, including slacks, shorts, t-shirts, polo shirts, lightweight jackets, sweatshirts, beachwear, gift items, cigars, etc.
If you're feeling adventurous and want to have a little fun, ask around for Travis Walters or Josh Wheatley and
Blue Rush Watersports. This dynamic duo rent out kayaks, hobie cats and various other water toys, including jet skis seen in the photo below.
Leverick Bay Jet Skis
Yacht Leaving Leverick Bay Marina
Before you make any groaning noises about jet skis in the North Sound, please reserve judgment until you've personally seen how the business is operated. Blue Rush Watersports, puts safety first. They are always respectful of other watercraft and the speed limits within anchorages. These young men work hard and are doing things the right way. They are just trying to make a living. A little support is well deserved.
They will be more than happy to give you a guided tour and show you all the little nooks and crannies, even salty sailors who have been cruising the British Virgin Islands for years, never knew about.
Call Josh or Travis at 284-544-7515 or 284-547-0583.
Leverick Bay Resort & Marina is a great spot to spend a day or two to really enjoy the North Sound. From here, you can rent a car on the premises to get to any restaurants, stores or National Parks on
Virgin Gorda that you can't reach by water. Two thumbs up!
