Chef Kenneth Molyneaux is the proud owner of this humble beach side eatery located behind his family's home on Long Bay Beach. The restaurant opened on April 23, 2014 and enjoyed almost instant success as word of mouth spread quickly throughout Tortola.

Ken is well known in the British Virgin Islands and is already an accomplished chef. A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, he was captain of the BVI Culinary team from 2004 to 2012 and has won 3 bronze, 3 silver and 3 gold medals for his culinary skills in various international cooking competitions.

It has always been Kenneth's dream to own his own business and that dream has finally come true. His fledgling bistro by the sea is already doing well and is a big hit with locals and visitors alike.

The unassuming appearance of the restaurant belies the marvelous cuisine offered. One might expect to see a menu with the typical bar snacks found at so many other beach bars around the BVI, but don't fall for it, this place will surprise you!

The grilled angus rib eye steak is out of this world and the shrimp dishes are not too shabby either. His home made soups are excellent, I just wish there had been more of the soup. In fact, the only thing I've tried so far that I didn't love, was the burger. Friend's of mine had the pulled pork sandwich and stewed conch and said both were unbelievably good. I'm looking forward to trying the mango infused jerk chicken wrap for lunch.

Kenneth's presentation is flawless and the dinnerware is very attractive. I can still taste those delicious shrimp! I don't think anyone will be disappointed with the surroundings, the view, the food or the service. I highly recommend Tropical Fusion.

Your fresh faced young servers (photo below), Jabari Stoutt and Stephanie Molyneaux are exceptionally well trained, attentive to their customer's needs and very pleasant to deal with. Kenneth has clearly spent a great deal of time with them, ensuring that his staff put as much effort into the front of the house as he does in the kitchen.

Diners will enjoy a marvelous view of the bay during the day and in the evening, the fresh sea breeze and the sound of the lapping waves add to your tropical dining experience. In the future, Kenneth hopes to provide beach chairs for his clients to enjoy and he may even start beach service for drinks. If that happens, you'll have to pry me out of there. It's a lovely spot and not very far from my house.

On a lazy Sunday afternoon, I stopped in to sample the local buffet brunch chef Ken prepares every week. Staying close to his roots, he serves local fare and draws a good sized crowd.

I peeked over the railing and caught a happy young lady (fresh from church) barefoot in the sand, enjoying the beach and indulging in a little playtime on the swing. As soon as she saw me with my camera, she giggled, blushed a little ... and kept right on swinging.
