There are not a lot of choices in the way of restaurants in the East End area ... but I can highly recommend Emile's as a good option. The pizza was great and several of the other dishes looked wonderful.
Unfortunately, they are not open during the day and I am rarely in East End at night, so I have only been there twice since they opened. Junie was a hoot to talk to and their chef did a great job keeping up with the orders. The first time I went, it was a pretty busy night. I was surprised how quickly our pizza was served. We were in and out in no time at all.
The second time, I gave into my lust for lobster and it was fabulous! The chef really outdid himself. It was cooked to perfection and I loved the salad. In fact, I wished there was a little more of it.
This is a surprisingly pleasant place to enjoy a meal as it isn't in the best neighbourhood. It's really handy for yacht charter guests based out of Harbourview. They offer both indoor and outdoor dining options and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed myself on both occassions.
There was a football game on during my second visit and although the bar was pretty busy, it was surprisingly quiet. They kept the volume down on the TV which was greatly appreciated. I like to talk to whomever I am dining with, and not be drowned out by loud noise or music. There were a few hoots and hollers ... but nothing that disturbed us.
Emile's features pig roasts on the second and last Monday of every month if you are lucky enough to be in the neighbourhood. I have heard it's wonderful.
