Leopard 46 | Catamaran - 2012
Name: Serenity | Air Conditioned
Robertson and Caine have done it again! This distinctive 46 footer boasts several features that put her at the head of the pack when it comes to 3 cabin, "owner version" cruising cats. That's saying a lot because there's some pretty impressive competition out there.
Her iconic stepped hull with pronounced hard chines running from bow to stern, serve more than one purpose. First and foremost, the interior volume is markedly increased by the chines. Secondly, hull slapping is greatly reduced, even in pretty choppy seas and thirdly ... she's a pretty dry boat as the chines tend to deflect the waves away from the hull rather effectively while sailing.
She's a performer! She'll take almost anything you throw at her in stride. In light winds, she is particularly impressive. When many comparable cats are inching along, the 46 grabs what little air there may be and continues on her merry way.
The cockpit with integrated hard top is surprisingly large and offers up a lovely dinette with wrap-around seating and good lounging space. Frank Lloyd Wright was a big proponent of "bringing the outside in" through the use of glass doors and panoramic windows. The extra wide sliding glass door and adjoining galley window, pay homage to Wright's life long quest to incorporate natural, scenic elements, open concept living spaces and deep sightlines.
Her raised helm seats two comfortably and boasts its own, fixed hard top. Your helmsman will enjoy excellent visibility, a well designed line handling arrangement and clear access to both the starboard side deck and cockpit.
There's really too much to say about her interior design, so I'll let the photos below do the talking.
