Lagoon 400 s2 | Catamaran - 2016
Name: Orion | Air Conditioned
At just over 39', this little catamaran provides a fair bit of space for all to enjoy everything the BVI has to offer.
The raised helm with seating for 2 provides your skipper with excellent visibility. All controls lead directly to the helm and the traveler is mounted on top of the rigid cockpit bimini, directly behind the helm, so your captain can easily single hand this yacht.
Each of the 4 cabins offer longer berths than her predecessor, they've been extended to 6'7 aft and 6'9 foreward, so tall folks needn't worry about their feet dangling over the end of the berth. The table in the main salon also converts to a 5th double berth if needed.
Large sugar scoops allow easy access to the water for swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing or getting in and out of your dinghy. Lovely wide, unobstructed side decks with flush mounted hatches and well placed hand rails, make getting back and forth from bow to cockpit very easy.
As with all the newer Lagoon models, the interior is finished with oak (Alpi composite wood) for all cabinetry and laminate floors throughout. These materials add a very modern and sophisticated appearance in keeping with her more modern, cubist design and almost plumb bows.
Lagoon's iconic wrap around, vertical windows provide 360 degree visibility, a marvelous sense of spaciousness and because the windows are vertical, it helps to keep the main saloon cooler than most other catamarans where the slanted windows tend to intensify heat.
The well equipped navigation station is to starboard of the settee, with excellent visibility all around. You'll find all the creature comforts normally found on much larger yachts.
Your galley faces aft with a lovely big sliding glass window, allowing your cook to remain engaged in all the fun taking place out in the cockpit.
All in all, this is a great yacht but with only two heads, would be best suited to family sailing adventures rather than 4 couples.
Note: Sailing lessons (level 114) are available aboard this yacht. Candidates must already possess ASA level 104 bareboat certification.
