Mahe 36 Evolution | Catamaran - 2013
Name: Aloha Ola
Fountaine Pajot's baby has evolved! This very popular model has been the darling of the catamaran charter fleet in Tortola, British Virgin Islands since it was first introduced in 2006. Gone is the ubber "minimalist" Mahe 36 of the past, Aloha Ola boasts some very much improved line handling concepts, a new sail design and several interior upgrades as well!
The clunky canvas bimini over the cockpit has been replaced by a striking, rigid bimini that swoops up at the stern and morphs into a rigid raised helm seat for two. It's an impressive change and one that adds functionality, style and gracefulness to her overall appearance.
The helm station and line handling arrangements have undergone major changes too. You'll enjoy 360 degree visibility from the helm and all lines (including the traveler controls, line clutches and electric halyard winch) are now within arms reach of the captain, making her very easy to single hand.
You'll find a more ergonomic and comfortable interior too! The major changes have taken place in the main salon and galley. Through clever redesigns of various storage functions, counter space has been increased in the galley, allowing for the addition of a double sink and more storage space.
Turning the navigation table to face aft has allowed for an the under counter refrigerator to be inserted right beside the entrance to the main saloon while a freezer was added where the refrigerator used to be ... beside the settee, just opposite the galley. Big bonus for all aboard!
Several smaller changes, such as raising the counter height beside the settee just a few inches has provided sufficient space for a handy cutlery drawer to be added. There are several other more subtle changes, upgrades and additions too ... but we'll let you discover those on your own!
The two, equal sized master cabins located in each hull offer oversized queen berths, lots of storage and hanging locker space, fans, reading lights, excellent natural light and much improved flow through ventilation.
One of the stand out "comfort features" on this yacht is the extra large head with shower in the forward section of each hull. They are immense and are even larger than most heads found on cats 10' longer!
This lovely little cat with her square topped sail, offers a delightful sailing experience for 2 couples or family of 4 that appreciate well designed space and personal privacy! If needed, the salon table converts to another double berth, should you wish to bring the kids along.
