Critical Window
Beneteau Oceanis 41 - 2015
Sailboat Name: Critical Window
Designed by Finot-Conq, this generation of Oceanis yachts by Beneteau are simply stunning. And this one is not just a pretty face. There is no question that her Euro-styling is sleek, streamlined and gorgeous, but she’s sensibly functional as well.
There are too many features to detail here, but I will note the highlights and you can discover the rest when you visit us in Tortola. The genius of this yacht begins with the continuous chine added to her impressive new hull design (which helps limit healing) ... and builds from there.
Her mast has been moved aft, allowing almost equal sail area for both the headsail and main. Because the genoa doesn't overlap the main by much, she glides across the water with virtually no weather helm. Fingertip steering, stability, comfort, space and sailing efficiency is what this sailboat is all about! Another bonus moving the mast aft has provided, is an expansive foredeck (with flush mounted hatches), ideal for sunbathing or stargazing on a warm Caribbean night.
She carries all but a few inches of her maximum beam all the way aft to the push button, drop down transom, allowing for an immense cockpit with gobs of space. I have never seen a larger cockpit on a 41' sailboat. Very Nice!
She has what appears to be a radar arch ... but isn’t. The mainsail sheeting is fed to the arch with the arch itself providing your anchor point. This means there is no traveler to get in your way. This clever line handling arrangement does away with the tangle of lines found in most cockpits. The arch also provides an anchor position for the full bimini and dodger and has LED lights installed for handy overhead lighting. Handholds mounted on the outboard sides of the arch make transition from side deck to cockpit much easier for those of us who may not be as spry as we once were.
When at anchor, you will appreciate the electric drop down transom that becomes a very large swim platform. Boarding your dinghy or getting in and out of the water has never been easier.
The companionway stairs are sloped on a 45 degree angle allowing for easy entry to your main salon and her well designed, L-shaped galley. Corian countertops grace the galley as well as a 2 burner stove, oven, refrigerator and double sink. Simple, straight forward and easy to move around.
A Butler's pantry is located adjacent to the galley for additional dry storage and there is a massive lazarette behind that. So ladies, you may bring as much luggage as you like (within reason) and there will be room left over for a cooler, scuba equipment or beach toys!
Both cabins offer irregular queen berths, en suite head with shower, hanging locker space, ample storage and good flow through ventilation!
Plan your British Virgin Islands sailing vacation soon and be sure to book early. The Beneteau Oceanis 41 is a very popular yacht!
Note: ASA Sailing lessons (levels 101, 103 and 104) are available aboard this yacht. Candidates must be at least 12 years of age or over to acquire bareboat certification.
