Meet the amiable and ever popular Allington "Gumption" Creque, owner and operator of Sea It Clear, glass bottom boat tours. Gumption's story is a rather interesting one.
Gumption always had a connection with the sea and he wanted to make his living by inviting others to experience it with him and appreciate all that the sea has to offer as much as he does.
He wanted to buy a glass bottom boat and take people out on tours so they could see what SCUBA divers and snorkelers see. But he was young and had no financial assets. All he had was his love of the sea, a good work ethic, ambition and a dream. Alas, none of the banks would loan him the money needed to buy his boat.
Then he met Sir Richard Branson, owner of
Necker Island and part owner of
Moskito Island. His life was transformed. Mr. Branson loaned him the money required to purchase his glass bottom boat ... and the rest is history.
I have not had the opportunity to go out with Gumption but others have told me it was great.
