Pusser's was established by a Canadian/American sailor and world traveler named Charles Tobias in 1980. With a formula for success, one new location after another sprang up throughout the
British Virgin Islands and points beyond. The landing is located on the small island named Frenchman's Cay in Soper's Hole, just a stone's throw across the harbour from the West End ferry terminal on
Tortola. The two islands are joined together by a small bridge.
Tastefully decorated with a nautical theme, all of Pusser's restaurants provide a comfortable ambiance, relaxed atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price. Mixing standard American fare with Caribbean delights, this truly is the neighbourhood place with something for everyone.
The BVI is the home of the trademarked "Painkiller" cocktail, which is made with Pusser's Rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and Coco Lopez ... or any cream of coconut and of course some freshly ground nutmeg ... and they won't forget the cherry on top!
The staff at Pusser's Landing are always pleasant, but these ladies (above) are two of my favourites. The lovely Ann Mary lives just down the road from me. We share a love of gardening and quiet solitude while Pearl (your bartender) is somewhat more outgoing ... just in case you hadn't already noticed from the photo. That twinkle in her eye is ever present, but her nails and makeup are ever changing!
As with all Pusser's locations, the Company Store plays a featured role too. They sell their own brand of casual apparel for men, women and children as well as beach wear, gift items and of course, Pusser's Rum, tankards and decanters.
