A large majority of sailors visiting the British Virgin Islands fly into St. Thomas, USVI and take the ferry across to
Tortola. The reasons for this is that there are no direct flights from mainland USA to the BVI ... and it is generally less expensive to take the ferry, than it is to fly to Tortola.
