*Retiring from charter service end of July, 2016*
It's finally here! A smallish, 3 cabin, 3 head cat ... and she's under 40' long!
The first thing you will notice is her generously proportioned main salon. It's positively huge for a 39' 3" yacht. For those who love sailing in the Caribbean, but prefer to stay cool while sleeping, this is the yacht for you!
She's "cook friendly" too. The aft facing galley will allow you to prepare meals and still be included in all the fun taking place in the cockpit. Just slide open the door and the pass through window and you won't miss a thing.
This owner's version dedicates the entire length of the starboard hull to Mom and Dad, or whoever wins the coin toss if three couples will be sailing.
The owner's cabin boasts a large head with separate shower stall, a good sized hanging locker and various storage spaces to keep your belongings. She also has a computer desk and free, on board WIFI is included in the charter fee.
The two port side cabins are no slouches either. What I like most about them is their airiness. I normally become claustrophobic below decks ... but not so on this particular boat! Each cabin offers lots of natural sunlight and that "cave dweller" feeling is completely absent. There are a number of opening ports as well, so getting fresh air is always an option if you choose to turn off your air conditioning in favour of the cabin fans supplied.
Topsides, her wide side decks, flush mounted hatches and well placed hand rails make passage to the bow very easy, even in rough weather. You'll enjoy the large trampoline and spacious foredeck offering the perfect place for lounging, sunbathing or enjoying a nightcap while watching the spectacular BVI sunsets.
All in all, I have to say that I really like this little yacht. Emmy Kate offers a surprising amount of room together with an airy and spacious feel. She is more than comfortable for up to 6 adults or for Mom, Dad and the kids.
Come to the British Virgin Islands, enjoy our tradewinds and all your creature comforts ... at an affordable price!
Note: Sailing lessons (level 114) are available aboard this yacht. Candidates must already possess ASA level 104 bareboat certification.
