Mermaid's Dockside Bar & Grill - Virgin Gorda

I've never met the mermaid herself ... but the staff here are very nice! I like this restaurant. It's a casual place with good local fare and very fresh fish. Menu items are pretty well priced and the view is terrific. You are right on the water (literally) as the place is directly on the jetty near Old Fort, in the South Valley area. It's also very close to both CocoMaya and The Rock Cafe.

The ribs are wonderful here and I love their pumpkin soup. They also make a very nice club sandwich. Not being a fish eater myself, I can't vouch for it personally ... but I am told that the fish of the day is outstanding, no matter when you go! I have not heard any complaints about the place, other than the washroom could be attended to more often.

They often offer all you can eat nights ... so be sure to ask when those might be. I've never managed to be there on the right day to catch the all you can eat lobster night. They do pig roasts too.

You'll enjoy the wonderful sunsets here and they sometimes offer live entertainment.
