This lovely open air restaurant was named in memory of Charlie Carey, founder of The Moorings. Charley and Ginny (his wife) were wonderful people. They started the Moorings in 1969 with just 4 boats in their fleet. Well 3 really ... because one was their own. Charlie's photo hangs on the wall just behind the cash register.
You'll enjoy a great view and a good breeze as the restaurant sits right on the water in the Inner Harbour. It's a very popular spot for business persons during the week and is often packed at lunchtime with accountants, doctors, lawyers and various government officials.
The dinner menu is distinctly Italian, yet some of the offerings have a noticeably Caribbean influence.
Their thin crust pizzas are a bit pricey, but are quite enjoyable and according to their daytime manager, the most popular dishes (aside from pizza) is the salmon and their rack of lamb.
