Kudos to Group Finot designers, who have come up with a real winner to rival any yacht in the 50' to 55' range. The Beneteau 523 did not win Sailing Magazine's, 2006 Boat of the Year Award for nothing. They have brought a much welcomed dimension to the BVI bareboating industry!

I don't like smoke and mirrors or clever attempts to be "innovative". Most fall flat on their face! The Beneteau 523 offers a no-nonsense layout which works ... and the designers of this 5 cabin, 5 head sailboat are to be congratulated!

The layout is straight forward and adds one huge advantage many yachts of similar size do not possess. The forward cabin is NOT the standard "coffin" usually designated for crew! Its usable for charter guests too, though you'd probably like to designate its use for children or hired crew.

Access to the far forward cabin is either from a deck hatch for your hired captain ... or ... from the starboard cabin located forward of the galley. Children can pass through their parent's cabin, through the head and into their cabin!

When you arrive in the British Virgin Islands, you may want to flip a coin to decide who gets the port aft cabin with separate walk in shower. Otherwise, the two aft cabins are identical as are the two forward cabins.

The Galley is great on the Beneteau 523! Lots of storage space, double sink, 4 burner stove with oven, a microwave for use at the dock and a front opening fridge with separate freezer compartment!

The large cockpit with folding table and wrap around seating is very comfortable with plenty of room for all. The nearly flush, teak deck is nice and clean! You won't find any hardware where it shouldn't be. Twin steering wheels are a nice feature as well.

I really like the Beneteau 523. Its sure to be a winner throughout the Caribbean and I have no doubt this yacht will be sailing the British Virgin Islands for many years to come!

British Virgin Islands yacht charter rates are based on a 7 days from noon to noon. Minimum charter period is 5 nights. For daily costs, divide the weekly rate by 7 and multiply by number of nights you wish to sail.

BVI cruising tax, NPT permit, Insurance, provisioning, crew, or water toys are not included in charter rates.

Bareboat sailing charters in the British Virgin Islands which two seasons will be cost adjusted to reflect seasonal differences.
