Peter Island Resort, BVI With 5 beaches, 2 restaurants, tennis courts, swimming pool, spa, gift shop, scuba shop and several really beautiful anchorages, this lovely resort holds many attractions for sailors and land based vacationers visiting the British Virgin Islands. Bareboat charter guests often like to go sailing for a week and stay at a resort for another week either prior to or after their charter. Peter Island is a magical place to luxuriate in all this marvelous resort offers! Resort guests and day visitors will arrive at Sprat Bay on one of two ferries offering regularly scheduled departures daily. The ferry leaves from Baughers Bay in Road Town, Tortola.
As beaches go, its really hard to top the mile long, palm tree lined beach at Deadman's Bay! There's plenty of room along this gorgeous, white sand beach for resort guests to relax and enjoy the spectacular views and gentle trade winds. Hammocks are strung amongst the palms for those who prefer to lounge in the shade and beach chairs are available if you would like to catch some sun. Feel like having a little fun? Take out one of the Hoby Cats, Lasers or Sunfish at the water sports center located right on the beach!
If you enjoy bobbing around in a freshwater swimming pool and basking in the sun, you'll find lots of chairs with poolside service available from the restaurant, just yards away!
I like the boutique just outside the lobby. You'll find lots of great beach cover ups, swim suits, t-shirts, shorts (men's and ladies) as well as some great light weight dresses and gifts to take home for the family!
The main restaurant is wonderful for breakfast and dinner, but I have to admit that I really prefer the beach side bar and restaurant at Deadman's Bay. I like casual dining!
Occasionally, when we all need a break "the girls" and I splurge and go to various BVI destinations. Peter Island is my personal favourite. I just love Deadman's Bay! Pictured below right: Kay is one of the owners of the Jolly Roger, Irene lived on Tortola but has since left, Debby and husband Vinny own Corsairs on Jost Van Dyke and Sydney and Mike own Barecat Charters. I hate having my picture taken, so I'm the one behind the camera!
If staying at the Resort, you may choose from several packages which cater to your special needs and desires. Packages are specifically designed for scuba divers, or for those who might like to get out on the water and sail the British Virgin Islands for a day or two. Guests who need some "me" time are pampered with the wonderful "sea and spa" package which includes massages, body scrubs and mud baths! No matter what you desire, you'll find it all right here ...
