Road Town, Tortola Map

Road Town is the capital as well as the business and financial center of the BVI. In recent years, the harbour has evolved into a busy hub for visiting cruise ships & sailors from all over the world.

There are several hotels if you're looking for overnight accommodations. We recommend either Village Cay Marina Hotel or Maria's By The Sea. Both are centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, banks, and gift shops. See map for details.

Before starting your sailing adventure, you'll want to do your grocery shopping. There are several excellent stores for typical grocery items as well as gourmet goodies! See details for yacht provisioning in the area. If chartering with TMM, the charter base is located at the marina, just a few minutes west (by taxi) or 12 minute walk from the downtown district.

Things to do and see!

If arriving during the day, a stroll around the J.R. O'Neal Botanic Gardens is a great way to wind down from your travels. If staying overnight at Village Cay Hotel, head down to the bar to meet and greet some of the local yachting crowd or take a refreshing dip in the pool.

Hiring a rental car or taxi and touring Tortola is another option to help familiarize yourself with the island!
