Foxy's Halloween Party & Masquerade Ball
Ghosties and ghoulies manage to make their way to Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke every year for Foxy's Annual Halloween Party following the always popular Cat Fight Regatta! Many folks go all out and put a lot of thought into their costumes, while others (like our group of party poopers) just come as they are. I love halloween and I always intend to make an effort to think up a really good costume ... but always seem to run out of time to get it done. This year was no different than the past ten years, so I am batting 100! I admire those who go for it ... even if they just wear a mask. Mr. Wizard was all too pleased to pose for me while casting a spell on my camera to ensure the lens wouldn't break while DinDin decided to strangle Lou for making fun of his Halloween costume! Paul Mason, (your friendly restaurant manager) was so busy sorting out how many dinner guests he had to seat that he didn't notice me taking his picture.
Following the buffet dinner which consisted of very spicy chicken, regular BBQ chicken, spicy BBQ ribs, fresh bread and salad, the party got going early this year and by 8:30 the dance floor was hopping.
One fellow did the Limbo while polishing off a Heineken. Not only did he go lower than I have ever seen anyone go without touching the ground ... but he managed to drink the whole beer without touching the bottle. Now that's talent!
Sporting his halloween t-shirt, Foxy shot me his trade mark smile with bulging eyes while posing with a flock of Pink Flamingos. Many pirates have passed through this world famous beach bar & restaurant over the years, but none quite as well dressed as this bunch of swashbucklers. The fellow in the middle (at the back) and the two ladies in black in the front row particularly looked the part!
There are costumes and then there are costumes! This bunch really went for the brass ring ... but the guy who super glued the horns to his bald head has to be completely nuts! I wonder if he slept with those things?
I pulled on his horns and I can tell you, they were on there solidly. Then again, maybe it wasn't a costume after all! Our group of old fogies were nackered from the Cat Fight Regatta and went to bed early. Next year, maybe we'll manage to stay up past 10:00pm to see if any more fabulous costumes show up at Foxy's Halloween party! A Picture is worth a thousand words ...
