BVI Catamaran Charters - Lagoon 420
with Electric Engines and
*Air Conditioning*
Well its finally happened! Lagoon have introduced the world's first eco-friendly, electric powered, bareboat charter yacht ... and what a stir this catamaran has caused in the British Virgin Islands!
Two, 8 kilowatt electric engines are connected to the propellers, providing a silent propulsion system. Two banks of 6, in series, 12 volt batteries run parallel and may be isolated. When fully charged, you can run this cat under power (instead of sailing) for approximately 2 hours. At 80% charge, the 21 kw diesel generator will kick in to power the boat and top off your batteries. While sailing, the props turn freely to generate power for the batteries. The Lagoon 420 is a sailor's dream machine!
The 420 replaces the popular 410 with many new and exciting design features. All lines lead directly to the helm for ease of control. The hard top bimini upon which the traveler has been mounted, keeps the cockpit free of any lines or moving parts. This is a family friendly yacht for small children as they may move safely about the cockpit without fear of little hands being where they shouldn't.
Access to the water and your dinghy is now easier than ever with a walk out to the sugar scoop swim platforms. There's more to tell about the Lagoon 420 ... but you'll just have to come to Tortola and see it for yourselves!
When not sailing, you will undoubtedly turn heads as you silently power past other yachts in "stealth" mode. This yacht may revolutionize the future of all bareboat yachts in the British Virgin Islands and worldwide!
