British Virgin Islands yacht charter booking procedures

Making your boating holiday reservation is very simple. Once you have decided which sailboat, catamaran or power boat you would like to hire, and have established availability in the BVI for your vacation dates, an option* will be placed on the boat for you.

*Note: An option is a tentative booking which is usually held for 2 to 7 days, allowing time for you to book your flights and send your deposit payment. The duration of your option is dependant upon how soon your dates are coming up and the individual charter company policies.

Once an option has been placed on the yacht:

You will be required to sign a contract and return it to the bareboat company in the British Virgin Islands by fax or mail.
You will fill out a sailing resume which outlines your sailing or boating experience and any prior charter experience. Any boating related courses you (or your designated captain) may have taken should be noted. (Form will be supplied)
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Your deposit must be received within 7 to 10 days of placing the option on the boat.
The balance of your rental fee (depending upon which boat you have chosen) is due and payable 45 to 60 days in advance of arrival. The final payment date will be noted on your invoice.

Insurance:

A non refundable premium of $29.00 to $40.00 per day covers damage to the boat except in the case of intoxication or gross negligence plus a $400.00, $500.00 or $750.00 refundable deposit (depending upon which boat you have chosen) to cover the loss or damage of the boat, its equipment, dinghy and outboard motor.

Cancellation Policy:

You may cancel subject to the following charges:

Written notice must be sent to the company you are booked with of your intention to cancel your reservation. *
Should you cancel 90 or more days prior to the commencement of your vacation, a $200.00 to 300.00 administration fee will be assessed against your deposit by the charter company. Bareboats BVI do not charge anything for our services in the event of a cancellation.
Should you cancel 46 and 89 days prior to the commencement of your vacation a forfeiture of 50% of the charter fee will be assessed.
Cancellation within 45 days prior to your arrival will result in forfeiture of all fees paid.

* Please note that Voyage Charters do not make any provision for cancellations and that cancellation for any reason whatsoever will result in the loss of all monies paid to date.
